Dr. Michael Platten is an accomplished dentist with a passion for delivering exceptional care and creating confident, healthy smiles. After qualifying in Leeds, he moved to Manchester, where he spent five years developing his expertise in restorative and aesthetic dentistry. During this time, he established a strong foundation for his career, honing his attention to detail and commitment to clinical excellence. Following a move to Suffolk with his partner, Louis, Michael has spent the past five years providing high-quality dental care in Bury St Edmunds. He has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and is known for creating personalised treatment plans that prioritise both function and aesthetics. Michael is also recognised for his compassionate approach, especially with nervous patients, building trust and long-term relationships through empathy and professionalism. Now, as he launches Claris Dental in Newmarket, Michael is excited to introduce a modern, patient-focused dental experience to the community—combining advanced techniques with a warm, welcoming environment.

Dr. Nick Williams, a Specialist in Prosthodontics, with over 20 years of experience in advanced restorative dentistry, Dr. Williams is highly skilled in managing complex treatments including dental implants, bridges, dentures, and the restoration of severely worn smiles. His precise, thoughtful approach has transformed countless smiles and earned him the trust and gratitude of patients throughout his career. Nick began his dental journey at Guy’s Hospital, later qualifying as a GDC-Registered Specialist in Prosthodontics. His professional path includes extensive experience at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital, as well as other leading institutions. Beyond his clinical work, Nick has lectured nationally and mentored dental professionals, sharing his knowledge and commitment to excellence in patient care. At Claris Dental, Dr. Williams brings his wealth of expertise and patient-focused philosophy to help every individual achieve a healthy, functional, and confident smile.

Katy is a dental hygienist who is dedicated to creating a friendly and relaxed environment for her patients. She focuses on motivating and educating them to enhance their oral health. Her career in dentistry begun in 2016 as a Dental Nurse, where she discovered her passion for oral health promotion. In 2024, she graduated from Teesside University with a first-class degree in Dental Hygiene. A strong advocate for a holistic approach to care, Katy believes that positive changes in oral health can significantly benefit her patients’ overall well-being and confidence. In her spare time, Katy loves exploring national parks and hiking with her energetic dog, Bailey, and her partner, Mike. She also enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Jessie is a dental Nurse and began her career as a dental nurse in 2022. She has recently been working as a locum across practices in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. Now, she’s looking forward to settling back into practice life and being part of a supportive, close-knit team. What Jessie enjoys most about her role is meeting new people every day and helping to deliver high-quality care to patients. She’s passionate about continuing to grow within the profession and is keen to develop her skills across different areas of dentistry here at Claris Dental.

Victoria is a dental nurse. She began her dental nursing career in early 2021, gaining experience in both NHS and private dental settings. She completed her dental nursing qualification in December 2023. Her background in health and social care, with an A Level completed prior to nursing, provided a strong foundation for her transition into the healthcare field. Victoria is passionate about her role and is committed to creating a calm and welcoming environment for patients. She takes great pride in helping to restore smiles and patient confidence, and is keen to continue developing her skills through post-qualification training and additional courses. Outside of work, Victoria enjoys long walks, travelling abroad, and spending quality time with her partner, family, and friends. She looks forward to welcoming patients to the practice and being part of their journey to a healthier, happier smile.

Abigail is front of house as the new receptionist! With a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service, Abigail is dedicated to creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step through our doors. She’s excited to be part of the Claris Dental journey and is looking forward to getting to know all of our lovely patients. Outside of work, Abigail has a small creative business designing bespoke wedding and event stationery—a quiet passion project, but something she truly enjoys. While she loves working on creative projects, she is eager for a new challenge and the opportunity to connect with people in a fresh setting. Abigail looks forward to seeing all your smiles soon!

Louis brings his passion for guest experience from Worlington Hall to Claris Dental. With a focus on ensuring you receive the very best care, Louis steps into the role of Patient Care Co-Ordinator.

Dr. Hughes is a compassionate and dedicated dentist who is passionate about helping others and delivering personalised care. Since qualifying from Newcastle Dental School in 2009, she has continued to expand her expertise in restorative dentistry. Her advanced training includes postgraduate qualifications from the renowned Eastman Dental Institute, where she refined her clinical skills and deepened her understanding of comprehensive dental care. In addition to her dental career, Laura is also a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, bringing a holistic perspective to her practice. With a strong belief in biological dentistry and a commitment to minimally invasive techniques, Laura recognises that oral health is closely linked to overall wellbeing. She embraces a personalised approach, understanding that no two patients are the same and that treatment should reflect each individual’s unique needs. Dr. Hughes is excited to join Dr. Platten and the Claris Dental team, sharing in our ethos of enhancing patient experience and delivering exceptional, patient-centred care.

Nancy is a dental therapist who is passionate about educating, supporting and motivating her patients in optimising their oral health. Since graduating from The University of Sheffield she has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Periodontics for Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists, enabling her to provide advanced periodontal treatments with a holistic and positive approach. She will work together with her patients to provide a tailored oral health plan that is personalised to their individual needs. Her experience spans from general practice to working alongside periodontal specialists on Harley Street, allowing a fully comprehensive approach to patient care. Nancy is an active member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy, whilst also attending conferences and lectures to further her knowledge to keep up with news and advancements within the dental industry. In her spare time, she enjoys an active lifestyle, music events and spending time with family and friends. Get ready to sparkle.

Kathryn began her career in dentistry in 1998, completing her training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. With over 27 years of experience in private practice, she brings extensive knowledge and a calm, reassuring presence to the team. In 2001, she undertook specialist training in implant nursing in London and is also fully qualified in dental radiography. Kathryn works closely with our prosthodontist, Nick Williams, and has been part of his team since 2008. She is passionate about patient care and finds great fulfilment in helping people regain their smiles and confidence. Outside the practice, Kathryn is a dedicated mum who enjoys running and spending quality time with her family, especially during holidays.

Eloise will be our apprentice Dental Nurse. We’re excited to welcome Eloise to the Claris Dental team as she begins her journey in dentistry through an apprenticeship in dental nursing. Eloise will be gaining hands-on experience across various areas of the practice, including assisting in clinical care and supporting the front-of-house team on reception so she’ll soon be a familiar face to many of our patients. Enthusiastic and eager to learn, she’s looking forward to developing her skills and knowledge in a supportive, professional environment. We’re delighted to be part of her journey and can’t wait to see her grow within the Claris team.
